Deus Ex 2 Confirmed

As was hinted in Warren Spector's discussion of Ion Storm's Thief III work earlier this week, a sequel to the acclaimed action-RPG Deus Ex is now in the works. The designer has revealed, in this GameSpy report, that the core team will include three former Looking Glass programmers now joining Ion Storm.

Eidos explained to GameSpot that Deus Ex 2 is in the very early stages of development, and that it hasn't yet ruled out the possibility of doing an expansion separate from the confirmed sequel. In addition to continuing Deus Ex's conspiracy-rich story, the sequel is expected to refine the game's option-filled gameplay. More on Spector's plans for the game will be forthcoming.
