Destiny's Battle Axe Forged in Real Life

Lord Saladin's weapon comes to life.

Destiny's Iron Battle Axe weapon has been forged in real life--and it looks incredible.

Bungie recruited the blacksmith company Sword and the Stone to make the weapon, which Lord Saladin wields in the new Rise of Iron expansion coming out later this month. As you can see, forging the weapon in real life required a lot of time and effort. If there's one thing I'm disappointed by, it's that they don't end the video by slicing fruit with it as has become the norm for these kinds of videos. Oh well.

Now Playing: Destiny: Rise of Iron - Forging the Battle Axe

Based in Burbank, California, Sword and the Stone was founded by master blacksmith Tony Swatton (seen in the video) more than 25 years ago. The company makes all manner of weapons, armor, and props. One of its past video game creations was Sephiroth's sword from Final Fantasy VII.
