Sony Online Entertainment announced today that Lightning Strikes, a new downloadable content pack featuring The Flash, is coming to DC Universe Online. The pack will introduce electrical abilities as the game's eighth power set, new gear, and a new map called Central City. The new Flash Museum Duo scenario will let gamers visit the Central City of today and tomorrow, as well as travel back in time to experience the moment The Flash gained his powers.

The scarlet speedster won't be the only familiar face featured in this content pack. The Justice League staple will be joined by an assortment of his friends and foes, including Livewire, Black Lightning, The Top, The Trickster, Static, and more.

Lightning Strikes will be available later this year on the PS3 and PC for free to all Legendary-tier players (monthly paid subscribers). For Free and Premium players, the pack will be available for $9.99.
