Ubi Soft Entertainment has announced Dark Planet: Battle for Natrolis, its upcoming 3D real-time strategy game set in a sci-fi fantasy world. The game will feature three unique races--the high-tech humans, a magical lizard race, and a ferocious alien race--fighting for control of the land. It will include three separate single-player campaigns, as well as four multiplayer modes.

Dark Planet will combine the traditional real-time strategy elements of large-scale battles, unit production, and resource management with features such as scalable difficulty, flexible camera movement, and huge 3D units. The game will also include deformable terrain, an extensive technology tree for each race, and a variety of advanced lighting and particle effects.

Dark Planet: Battle for Natrolis is in development at Scotland-based Creative Edge Software and is scheduled for release in February.
