A few more details about Microsoft's long-awaited Xbox One and PC game Crackdown 3 have come to light. During an Extra Life livestream recently, Microsoft Studios art director Dave Johnson confirmed that the game is confirmed for holiday 2017 "or earlier."

Additionally, he said the game will support 4K resolution on the Project Scorpio console, which itself is slated to come out in holiday 2017. This information was spotted by DualShockers and NeoGAF.

Crackdown 3, or at least a part of it, was previously expected to launch in 2016. Microsoft later confirmed a delay to 2017, for a couple of reasons. First, Xbox marketing manager Aaron Greenberg said the open-world game won't launch in 2016 because the company's holiday lineup this year is already so stuffed with great games that it didn't need more. Later, Microsoft Studios boss Shannon Loftis said the delay is partially the result of needing more time work on the campaign.

Regarding the 4K comment for Crackdown 3, Loftis said earlier this year that all Microsoft-developed Project Scorpio games will run natively at 4K.
