Developed by a Japanese company by the name of Success, the Cotton series was originally a side-scrolling shooter that appeared in arcades back in 1991. The game was later released on several console systems, such as NEC's PC Engine (the US equivalent of the Turbo Graphics 16), the Sega Megadrive (the Japanese equivalent of the Genesis), the Sega Saturn, and the Sony PlayStation. The latest version called Rainbow Cotton is coming to the Sega Dreamcast next year as well.

Cotton for the NeoGeo Pocket Color is scheduled for a February 24, 2000, release for a price of 3800yen (about US$37) in Japan.
