EA's latest action game retains the number-one spot on NPD's latest weekly list of best-selling games.

Electronic Arts kept up its chokehold on the top spots in NPD Techworld's latest weekly and monthly lists of best-selling games. Command & Conquer Renegade, the publisher's latest action game, stayed in the number-one spot on the weekly list, followed by Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, EA's recent World War II shooter, in second. The Sims, EA's incredibly popular virtual-life game, took third place, followed by The Sims: Hot Date expansion in fourth. Sierra's latest stock-car racing game, NASCAR Racing 2002 Season, rounded out the top five for the week of March 3-9.

EA did just as well on the list of best-selling games for the month of February, with Medal of Honor at number one, followed by Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, the adventure game based on J.K. Rowling's fantasy novel of the same name. Third place went to The Sims: Hot Date, and The Sims itself remained in fourth. Infogrames' theme-park management strategy game RollerCoaster Tycoon held on to fifth place for the second month in a row.
