Game publisher Codemasters has announced that it has secured the rights to publish World War II: D-Day to Berlin, the upcoming real-time strategy game in development at UK-based game studio The Bitmap Brothers. The game will let players assume command of the Allied forces during World War II as they try to drive the Axis forces back inside their own territory.

"Recent successes in mass entertainment fields, including film and television drama, prove that World War II continues to be an evergreen source of fascination and embraces an audience across many generations," said Gary Rowe, head of business development at Codemasters.

Mike Montgomery, managing director of The Bitmap Brothers, added, "We're committed to creating an experience that will have broad appeal from the core RTS player through to the casual gamer who will be attracted by the game's historical detail."

World War II: D-Day to Berlin is scheduled for release in the second half of 2002. We'll post more information about the game when it becomes available.
