Check out this footage of Diablo 3 for PS4 running in 1080p/60fps

Enjoy some footage of Blizzard Entertainment’s new console game straight from PAX East with commentary from senior designers.

Here's a great way to end your week. Straight from PAX East in Boston comes this 6-minute video showing off Diablo III for PlayStation 4 running in 1080p at 60fps. The video features commentary from Blizzard senior producer Julia Humphreys and senior level designer Matthew Berger.

The PS4 version of Diablo III, titled the Ultimate Evil Edition, was announced during BlizzCon 2013 in November. It includes the main game and its Reaper of Souls expansion.

The video also touches on some of the game's new features, like its Mail, Player Gifts, and Nemesis systems, as well as the Apprentice Mode. We also learn in the video that Diablo III for PS4 will include all of the PC patches, which means the game will be "very finely tuned," Berger said.

Blizzard has not announced a release date for Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition for PS4. An Xbox One version is currently in development, but Blizzard is not sure if it will ever be released. Already reached level 70 in Diablo III? Check out GameSpot's guide to understanding its endgame content.

A 2 year old game with no direct x 11 support runs at 60 FPS on a new console? Consider me a convert. Can't wait to see 4K games at 60 FPS on the xbox one (har har).

Still is looking like childish shit the graphics are a joke

This game is going to be great because, y'know...it runs in 1080p.

GameSpot should replace their 1-10 scale for review scores with something that lets us know the resolution of the game.  1080p60 games would get a perfect ten, and the scores would just go downhill from there.  We've obviously decided that screen resolution is the only thing that matters anymore.

Wonder if it'll convert PS3 savedata onto the PS4 version?

I'm hoping Dark Soul's 2 announcing a PlayStation 4 version with the convert save data from past to current gen.

Time will tell.

Pretty sure a tablet can run this game at 1080p 60fps...

Aside from higher res and FPS the pc version also uses SSOA and super sampling. No point in PS4. Waste of time.

Graphics and gameplay are BadAss, Day 1 buy for me. Lots of jelous x-bots out there posting.

The effects don't look as good as PC and they don't stay on screen as long. That's really the only difference. Diablo 3 wasn't a graphically heavy game to begin with. At least consoles are getting our scraps.

It looks almost as good as the PC version.

The title is misleading. The video mainly talks about the new features of the game, not about the framerate or resolution. Very despicable of you Mr Makuch.

These days, you'd do anything to generate more hits huh Gamespot?

Is gamespot where the PC elitist hang out? Seems that way.

I really hope console games start trying to hit 1440p with smaller games like this that could easily handle it.

@osterac  The game has really low system requirements. This could very likely be optimized to run at the same res on XB1. By the way, not having Direct X 11 means the game will run on older hardware, thus easier to run on newer hardware.

@RSM-HQ  They already said It WILL last year after the PS3 version came out and people where wondering whether to wait for the PS4 version, or just buy the PS3 edition and play the game. Since the PS3 version has signs into Blizzards Sony servers, all you'd have to do is make sure your PS3 D3 profile has been online. I'm sure the same servers will be used for a PS4 version.

PS4 blows any tablet out of the water - immensely. As PC gamers, it's up to us to speak the truth about technology to the deluded fanboys - and that means also telling the truth about PS4's strengths too. Keep in mind when referring to consoles, that we're not in the XBOX 360 generation anymore. Even though XO has shitty hardware, the PS4 has upper-mid level hardware (very close to lower-highend) - it'll be two years before tablets reach that.

The PS4 version also has visual aspects that the PC version does not... along with the mailing system, along with avenge monster program on friends lists...

If you actually watch the video, you would know these things... and for a lot of people that already own a PS4... it seems the PC version would be a waste...

Hmmm. Strange.

@shalashaska88 see: PS4, Xbox one games 50% off at NewEgg - Get Battlefield 4 on Xbox One for $35, Killzone: Shadow Fall for $28, and more.

Yes, that is "news" here on Gamespot, when banners fail to generate enough revenue.

@shalashaska88  This is the trend here at GS.  If an article doesn't serve to promote a product, it serves only to spark debate in the comments section.

I was saying that I wasn't impressed that the ps4 can run it at 1080p 60fps, since it is an older dx10 game. As for XB1, I was talking about 4k (3840x2160 rez). Microsoft claims the XB1 can run games at 4k. The XB1 (and th PS4) is basically, programmatically, an x86 pc. For a PC to run 4k games in at 60 FPS you will need $3000 in graphics cards alone. That's 4 GTX 780 ti cards in sli. The XB1 has the equivalent of 1 Radeon hd 7770, which has a passmark score of 2154. A single 780 ti scores 8088. For a PC to run 4k games at 30 FPS, you would need at least 2 780 ti cards, so around $1500 in graphics cards alone.

@Zodiarck  I only read a article with the writer saying it was going to happen, not from the developer. But all the same that's excellent news.

@Zodiarck @XNEXUS666X  The Xbox One has 'shitty' hardware? Huh? You were being sensible until you said that. I think both consoles are very close graphically and have appropriate hardware. Why is it always either good or shitty with people these days? What happened to comparative objectionality? The ouya would have 'shitty' graphics, but then again they've decided graphics do not a good game make, so I can't say what shitty means.

That's quite funny how stupid your statement is, A PS4 has equlivaent of a Radeon 7870 XT, which is mid 2009 range, even a GTX 650 has a better throughput than the shitty graphics card a PS4 has.

For such a "powerful" system that supposely more powerful than a PC your stating it has a remarkable amount of trouble of emulating PS2 and the PS1 software from get-go which the PC has already obtained.

I'm sorry did I hurt your feelings more how about waiting on an inferior port that's coming out in November after everyone already played it at March.

YoYoma4093
YoYoma4093

You know technically the XB1 could play 4k games. They just won't be graphics intensive. Yes they are both under powered, and soon enthusiast level PC cards will be able to run 4k games

I've read that it's actually closer to a HD 7890 - as it's been highly optimized specifically for the PS4.

And last I checked a 7890 was a damn good little budget mid-range card.

"For such a "powerful" system that supposely more powerful than a PC your stating it has a remarkable amount of trouble of emulating PS2 and the PS1 software from get-go which the PC has already obtained."

1.  I was making a jest at the fact that you used the word "obtained" as in to acquire, whereas you meant to use the word "attained" as in to achieve.

2.  You imply that I was "stating" that the PS4 has trouble emulating the PS2 and PS1 software.  I am implying that this is irrelevant, as emulation is a very poor benchmark for system performance.
