Capcom cancels Mega Man Universe
Osaka game company cans Xbox 360 and PlayStation downloadable game; axed for "various" uncited reasons.
The Blue Bomber is feeling the blues. Capcom has announced it has canceled Mega Man Universe, the 2011-dated title announced last July.
The news stems from an official message from the Osaka game company (via Siliconera) posted on its website. The cancellation message states the title was canned for "various" reasons, but the note does not elaborate further.
Announced in July, Mega Man Universe was the brainchild of series producer Kenji Inafune and was to be a 2D platformer that afforded gamers the ability to create levels and customize characters from the Capcom universe. GameSpot went hands-on with the game at the 2010 Tokyo Game Show, where the game’s execution was found to be "pretty rough."
