Call of Duty: Ghosts promotional poster reveals DLC headed to Xbox Live Jan. 28

The Onslaught DLC adds four new maps, a new weapon, and Extinction mode content.

A promotional poster for Call of Duty: Ghosts' first DLC pack, Onslaught, shows it will release on Xbox Live Jan. 28, adding four new maps, a new weapon, and the first new episode of its Extinction mode.

Twitter user @SeiousSix2010, who posted the image, says he found it at his local GameStop.

The four maps are titled Fog, Bayview, Containment, and ignition. Nightfall will be the first of four new episodes in the game's cooperative Extinction mode. At this time, it's unclear whether the "Maverick AR & Sniper Rifle" shown in the poster refers to one or two weapons.

Onslaught is the first of four DLC packs Activision included in the game's season pass, with Devastation, Invasion, and Nemesis still to come this year (together they spell O.D.I.N, the name of the space station that is central to the game's plot).

I tried playing Ghosts but the game is horrible,no different than all the other games they have released.

So that's when the last 20% of the game is available.

I use to be on of those guys who would defend CoD from the haters. But after a while, I realized...its all the same friggen game.  Same DLC, same perks with different names, same guns with different skins...same, same same.  And I've been pouring my money into it!  I hope Titanfall is good.  Cause I need something new.

Wow four maps! Those must have taken at least two days for a studio to produce! Good work!

At least COD Ghosts is playable on the PS4. If it weren't for this game id return my PS4. Look at the problems NBA2k14 BF4 is having... at least Ghosts was a completed game. Not to mention PS Plus gives us NOTHING besides dumb zenball and crap. Next Gen has been a failure so far.

Not sure why there is so much hate towards Ghosts. Such a good COD and way better than the crap fest that was BLOPS 2

I've got 80 or so maps from all the CoD's I own, after that year is up they are worthless unless you want to play a bunch of hackers who have fully auto tubes with super mario jumping ability. I believe CoD 2 and CoD 3 gave out some free maps then $$$$$ hit the eyes of the CEO's and that was over.

I'd pay $15-$30 a year to transfer ALL the maps from the last CoDs (treyarch produced games on treyarch's next game and IW produced on IW's next game) for the next/currant game. Since the "new" game is just a reskin of their last game it shouldn't be that hard. This would be the only way I'd see paying $60 for what is nothing more than an update of your game from 2 years ago (since each produce a game every other year).

Before long the maps will be called:

Another Map

Corners

This one could have been on the disc but we wanted to charge you extra for it

Then the gun will be a 500 round mag full auto stub-nosed pistol with quick drawl and muzzle flash/recoil eliminator.

COD4 was revolutionary for the online shooter. It was just so different from all the others. It set a standard for multiplayer shooters, just like Halo did for the original Xbox. WAR was basically 4 with a WW2 skin over it, but the COD formula was still so fresh and innovative at the time that it didn't matter if it was the same game, it was still good. MW2 was garbage IMO. All the new kill streaks ruined the game. The gameplay was still the same, and by that time, it was starting to get a bit stale. By the time BLOPS arrived, the gameplay, for me at least, was so stale and boring I couldn't handle it. On a positive note, they did fix them horrible kill streaks MW2 had, and I think it was overall, better than MW2. I skipped MW3, and BLOPS 2 because the gameplay was essentially still the same as it was all the way back to COD4. Now I'm not saying that COD is a bad game, in fact, it has fantastic multiplayer, just essentially playing the same game for 4 years straight, got boring. I needed a break. That being said I've been 3 years without playing a COD game, so I have Ghosts coming in the mail this week. It's been 3 years, and I'm ready to get back into the Call Of Duty vibe. Maybe I'll start the yearly COD cycle over again, maybe I won't, we'll have to wait and see. And for anyone wondering what I've been playing in the meantime... Battlefield :}

I don't see why people have such a problem with Ghosts, I just got done playing it for a few hours. Strongest CoD since MW2. This feels like what MW3 should have been.

DLC for a game that has design elements that are flat out broken. Brilliant.

If it at least were single player focused DLC, I'd consider it, but Ghosts' multiplayer is so full of shit it's not even worth considering it.

Can't wait! Ghosts is awesome, the campaign has a really deep narrative, way better than the shitty Gone Home.

@Cpt_Cosmonaut   CoD works perfectly because it's impossible to screw up the same 50 lines of coding they've been using since 2007 ;)

Oh and since the next gen is such a failure, get rid of your PS4 and get yourself a PC since it's full crap generic FPS games like COD.

@Cpt_Cosmonaut these 'next-gen' of course is [not excited] as last-gen, but give it a time, lol ine simply can't judging it by 2 technical-FAIL games and 1 completed recycling-crap software that look almost the same as 5 years ago.

there's reasons why it's still here because it still good (just like McDonald or whatever)

@Cpt_Cosmonaut Yeah it's a complete game alright... considering they've made the same thing the past FOUR+ years. Stop supporting this garbage fools

@WadeFan

Better, how exactly?  Atleast BO2 was a 'what if' near future premise.  Ghosts is literally MW2/3 with a make over.

t0taldj

@WadeFan Subjective. The sales and scores speak for themselves. That being said, MW1 and 2 are my favorite. 3 was utter trash (in my opinion) and black ops 2 was better than MW3 IMO.

@bfmv2007 I'll be the first to admit that CoD is one of the most addicting games I've played. The problem is that it's not worth $60 a year on top of $60 a year for XBL/PS+. If Titanfall lives up to the hype, I don't think CoD will be the powerhouse it used to be. I'm am very surprised CoD has been on top year after year and I've said it many times, but this is probably going to be the last year or two that CoD is big. It's cool to hate it now, and kids are starting to branch out to other games to play. With the open world/MMO type games coming to consoles, a standard military shooter isn't going to hold up.

steve_esquire

@PartyGavinParty It's because it still looks and plays like a game released 5 years ago. There's no excuse why the visuals aren't better than BF when they make unimaginable profits.

Bazongaman502
Bazongaman502

@PartyGavinParty I don't understand it either. Its not the best game out there, but it is far from the worst. It is just a new perspective to the CoD franchise. The game style is still the same, but you can still see the attempt to make some sort of change. The thing I have noticed about the CoD fanbase is that they always want "change". But when the change occurs, people get upset by it. It will forever seem that anything that is done to CoD, no one will be happy. Just look at the popularity on Black Ops 2 now that Ghost is out. Now look back at how popular MW3 became after Black Ops 2 came out and so on and so forth. When the next CoD comes out, Ghost will gain the popularity again.

elderdrake

@PartyGavinPartyIt feels old, used and definitely not innovative.

With the new generation of consoles here, can't wait to see the next evolution of shooters brings.

@steve_esquire @bfmv2007 The whole this game isn't worth $60 arguement has always made me laugh. You get around a year of enjoyment out of COD for $60(and if you don't enjoy it why would you buy it), compared  to the average single player game for the same price that you usually get 8-10 hours of enjoyment from before it's either put on a shelf to collect dust or traded in.

steve_esquire

@Bazongaman502@PartyGavinParty Well this is kind of the reason musicians usually have to stop making music when they become big. When you become "mainstream," your fanbase is a huge mix of people. When that happens, no matter what people are going to complain. And when people complain, it drowns out the compliments. When this happens, it becomes "cool" to hate it, and then everyone moves on. This is why musicians that stay true to their style are successful for much longer than most pop idols. Even if you don't make the most money, your fans will always be happy. That's why games like Dead Space, Mass Effect, and Resident Evil are surrounded by hate. They tried to make their games something they're not. So the goal is to stay true to your fanbase, and avoid being too popular at the same time. It takes a lot luck and management to do it right. The best examples I can think of is Borderlands and L4D. They're fun, stay true to their roots, and only improve on what was wrong.
