Empire Interactive announced today that it has signed the rights to create video games based on the upcoming MGM martial arts film Bulletproof Monk. Starring Chow Yun-Fat (from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) and Seann William Scott (of American Pie fame), the movie follows the story of a nameless monk who has traveled the world to protect a powerful, ancient scroll. The nameless monk finds an unlikely protégé in the United States to help him protect the world from the power of the scroll.

The game, in development at UK-based Mucky Foot Productions, follows the film's primary storyline, adding a few extra twists. Few details on the game are available, except that it's slated for a holiday release for consoles and the PC.
