Bodog bets on Scarface

Online-gambling Web site partners up with Sierra Entertainment for promotion in upcoming PS2, Xbox, PC film-based game.

Bodog, an online casino and sports-betting Web site, depends greatly on the lines it lays out for sports fans. Cocaine kingpin Tony Montana, the antihero in Scarface: The World Is Yours, also relies heavily on his customers laying out their own sort of lines. Seeing as how they have so much in common, the two entities have agreed to form a promotional partnership.

The Bodog brand will appear in Sierra Entertainment's Scarface: The World is Yours when it is released on October 8. The game is currently being developed by Radical Entertainment and is slated to appear on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. A PC version is also in the works and will be released later this year.

Several minigames in Scarface will bear the Bodog name, including video poker machines, slot machines, and games of blackjack. In-game billboards will also sport the names of several Bodog Music bands, and Bodog founder (and recent Forbes billionaire) Calvin Ayre will appear as a nonplayable character in the game.

The online gambling site will also be holding on online contest through its music label. Gamers will be able to win free copies of Scarface, and one grand prize winner will be treated to a "Live Like Tony Montana" retreat at the Bodog Compound in Costa Rica. Exactly what aspects of Montana's opulent, drug-addled, and often-murderous lifestyle would be reproduced at the compound were not disclosed.
