Blizzard Entertainment today announced that it has opened a new World of Warcraft site in Europe. The site will host multiple game realms in English, French, and German, including seven new realms launched today. Additional European realms are expected to be launched in the coming weeks.

"We are delighted to provide these new game realms for European players," said Mike Morhaime, president and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "The new site will allow us to provide a smoother, more satisfying game experience, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the players in Europe for their continued support and patience whilst we brought this new site to fruition."

European World of Warcraft wannabes should be especially pleased by today's news, since the launch of the new realms will facilitate the return of the game to retail stores. Shipments of the game had been halted in recent weeks in an attempt to avoid overcrowding on existing realms. For more information on World of Warcraft, check out our previous coverage of the game.
