Baldur's Gate Caught in Xmas Rush

Huge demand for Baldur's Gate goes unfulfilled; Interplay says more games are on the way.

Gamers disappointed by the absence of Baldur's Gate at their local retailers can take consolation in knowing that Interplay “is working double time to get games out” to retailers. This according to an Interplay spokesperson contacted on Tuesday.

The Interplay spokesperson told GameSpot News that while it is true not all stores received their full allotment of copies requested, all stores should be stocked with games shortly. “We were stuck between a rock and a hard place with the holidays,” Interplay said.

Copies of the title, which has been in development for about two and a half years, trickled into a few stores last week – and most of those shipments have sold out. Manufacturing and distribution are taking place all this week, according to Interplay.
