Kratos slashes his way to the top of charts Down Under.

God of War II, sequel to Sony's 2005 PlayStation 2 smash hit God of War, has leaped straight to the top of the Australian video game charts. God of War 2 was released Down Under on May 3, yet still managed to squeeze in at number one for the charts of the week of April 30 to May 6, according to data trackers GfK Australia.

The Nintendo DS dominated the rest of the overall charts, taking out five spots in the top 10. Meanwhile, the Xbox 360 version of movie tie-in game Spider-Man 3 landed in third spot--the first time a 360 game has been in the overall top 10 in two weeks.

The PlayStation 3 was left bringing up the rear with Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and MotorStorm, scoring the ninth and 10th spots.
