Aussie game charts: April 2-April 8

Ninja Turtles fight their way to number one.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) are back and on top this week with their movie tie-in game on the PlayStation 2. TMNT has jumped to the number one spot in the Australian game charts--three weeks after its initial release. The spike can be attributed to the general release of TMNT the movie on April 5 in Australia.

The Guitar Hero 2 bundle on the Xbox 360 leapt straight to the number two spot in its debut week--knocking Command and Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars to the number three spot. Cricket World Cup fever has fallen this week with Ricky Ponting International Cricket 2007 on the PlayStation 2 falling two spots to number six. PS3 games sales have dropped off in the 10 chart with MotorStorm and Resistance: Fall of Man holding the seventh and eighth positions respectively this week.

In other charts for the week of April 2 to April 8, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess retains its position at the top of the Wii games, and Animal Crossing: Wild World on the Nintendo DS charts also remains on the top. Overall the charts have changed very little since the previous week--with few titles that came out making an impact.

Yeah! Turtle Power! I just got myself a TMNT game. :) Not a great game but really fun to play with.

>virtua fighter 5 only #10? that game awesome!! it's a pretty hardcore fighting games. and very Japanese-y. so I don't see a lot of people getting on the bangwagon. VF will do very well in Asian, but that's about it. there are GBA games over 40 dollars?? man, those poor Aussies.

Lol, Gears of War still selling??

well aslong as gears of war is still fighting strong im happy

Sad to see the PS3 games have dropped back a bit, seeming the system is still brand new

Ha, Gamespot just fixed it's typo mistake by taking the "2" out.

the_real_VIP There's an Xbox version of GRAW 2? :o I didn't knew that! I gotta buy it! :P

virtua fighter 5 only #10? that game awesome!!

"the_real_VIP There's an Xbox version of GRAW 2?" .......................That's weird, I never knew that.

yep yep a 7 year old counsle still at the top:P.

Guitar Hero 2. I've done my bit to push it up the charts, as I picked it up this week. Some frustrating times ahead as I try to finish that one. Good to see Oblivion has returned to the top 10 for 360 sales. I'm still trying to finish that brilliant game.

The tv commercial blitz for the DS games (Animal Crossing, Catz and Horsez has certainly worked for Nintendo.

ps2 still number one

is 360 failin or is jus cuz ps3 is still new over there

Just look at the top DS games sold...dissapointing!

@TTDog Thx for letting us know every time PS3 drop out of the chart.

hmm not bad sales for S3 considering the few consoles sold down here atm ...

TMNT FTW  Well I was hoping GH2 to be there.

At least the PS3 games are still hanging on for another week, they've dropped out the UK charts altogether.
