Artisan bringing games to big screen

Artisan Pictures announces that it has secured the North American distribution rights to both the House of the Dead and Alone in the Dark movies.

Artisan Pictures has today announced that it has secured the North American distribution rights to both the House of the Dead and Alone in the Dark game-inspired movies. House of the Dead is scheduled for release this fall, while shooting for Alone in the Dark is slated to begin in July in Vancouver, Canada.

"We are thrilled to have added these two horror films to our release slate," said Patrick Gunn, executive vice president, Artisan Entertainment. "Both films will offer distinctive fright appeal that caters to a growing audience of horror fans."

Both of the horror movies are being directed by Uwe Boll of Boll KG Entertainment, whose previous credits include Sanctimony and Homeroom: Heart of America. We'll bring you more information on both of the movies as soon as it becomes available.
