UK-based BlueInca Studios has unveiled Arcturus, its upcoming sci-fi action-strategy game. The game is set on a distant alien planet inhabited by two warring species, each of which has distinct cities, towns, and vehicles. Players will assume the role of a leader of one of the species and will also serve as their champion fighter. In the role of leader, players will oversee the development of the species, the exploration of the planet, and the production of wealth, technology, and military units. As the champion fighter, players will pilot the species' most advanced craft and must defend their settlements and attack their enemies. Arcturus will feature both single- and multiplayer modes and can be played in both first- and third-person perspectives.

BlueInca Studios was formed in October 2000 and is made up of developers from a variety of companies, including Eidos Interactive, Imagination Technologies, Nokia, Lucent Technologies, Virtuality, and Computer Artworks.

Arcturus is scheduled for release near the end of 2002. We've posted some early screenshots from the game in the gallery above. For more information, visit the official BlueInca Studios Web site.
