Ignition Entertainment has today announced that it will publish a previously unannounced Game Boy Advance version of Archer Maclean's 3D Pool in Europe in December. The game, which is currently in development at Archer Maclean's Awesome Studios, will feature variations of both American and UK pool, a rule editor, and a trick-shot table editor.

"Part of the appeal of programming is creating something that ordinarily shouldn't be possible," said Archer Maclean, creative director at Ignition Entertainment. "That's how 3D Pool started off; someone mentioned the possibility of it as a joke, and we set about prototyping. I have to admit, I am well pleased with the 100 percent authenticity of this version, because it is as fluid and comprehensive as it was on the best-selling Atari ST, Amiga, and PC versions. The fact we've squeezed so much speed for the 3D, the real-time ball kinetics, and the AI going on as well is amazing. And throughout it all the GBA maintains a fluid frame rate--it's a real testament to the skill of the programming team."

Archer Maclean's 3D Pool will support both solo and multiplayer contests and will feature a free camera that can be positioned almost anywhere players wish. We'll bring you more information on Archer Maclean's 3D Pool as soon as it becomes available.
