Ape Escape 2 comes to North America
Ubi Soft signs the publishing rights to Sony Computer Entertainment's monkey action game.
Ubi Soft has announced that it has picked up the publishing rights to Ape Escape 2, the sequel to Sony Computer Entertainment's popular PlayStation action game featuring monkeys. In Ape Escape 2, players will have to capture apes that are running loose within the game's environments. To accomplish this task, players will have access to a variety of gadgets, including a banana boomerang designed to lure in nearby monkeys.
"We are very excited to sign this publishing agreement with Ubi Soft to bring one of our exciting game titles, Ape Escape 2, to our North American fans," said Tomikazu Kirita, senior vice president at Sony Computer Entertainment Japan. "We are thrilled to be working so closely with SCEJ on one of their featured products," said James Regan, Ubi Soft's director of business development. "A classic brand with a strong following like Ape Escape 2 rounds out Ubi Soft's impressive mix of titles."
