Animal Crossing: New Leaf's upcoming December update is set to add Amiibo support, but now we've learned that all returning players will have their town cleaned up as part of it as well.

"Been away from your town for a while?" the Animal Crossing Twitter account tweeted, alongside a picture of Leif and Isabelle. "When the free update arrives this autumn, I'll take care of all the weeds."

When a player is away from their town for a significant amount time, it gets infested with weeds and the clean-up time can be significant. To mitigate that, the update will take care of them for you, so you can jump right back into your regular Animal Crossing routine.

The update is set to release on December 2 and adds support for previously released Animal Crossing Amiibo figures and cards. There's also a series of new Amiibo cards coming on the same day, and they'll let you bring characters who weren't originally a part of New Leaf into your town. You can see a full list of the supported Amiibo here.
