Rovio Entertainment announced today that its kart racing game Angry Birds Go! will be released in app stores worldwide on December 11. These include iOS, Android, Windows Phone 8, and BlackBerry 10.

The game was "built from the ground up" as a free-to-play title and features upgradable karts, numerous characters, and special powers in a "fully rendered" 3D world.

Angry Birds Go! also features connectivity with Hasbro's Telepods, a line of physical toys that can be "teleported" into the game.

Rovio said the December 11 launch of Angry Birds Go! is "just the beginning" for the kart racer, saying the company has "huge plans" for its first-ever racing game.
