Ubisoft's flagship action adventure title, Assassin's Creed Unity, has debuted at second place on the UK games chart.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare managed to hold the top spot despite a 77 per cent drop in sales. Although at face value this could be seen as a disappointing outcome for Ubisoft, Unity's sales performance was handicapped due to not shipping on last-gen systems.
Combined sales of Assassin's Creed Unity and Assassin's Creed Rogue (which released exclusively for Xbox 360 and PS3) outsold Activision's cross-gen shooter.
Unity's sales were somewhat evenly split between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, with the latter accounting for 46 per cent of physical sales.
Elsewhere in the charts, Halo: The Master Chief Collection entered at third, and represents Microsoft's best-selling first party Xbox One game yet.
As the holiday season approaches, a spate of new game releases have begun to feature in the games charts. Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham debuts at fifth, and Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 lands at eighth.
World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor debuts at ninth place, though it should be noted that sales data is for physical copies only.
Meanwhile, the PS Vita version of Minecraft has performed superbly, representing the biggest Minecraft launch on any PlayStation platform, and becoming the third biggest debut ever on Vita.
Sales monitor Chart-Track counts Minecraft sales on all PlayStation and Xbox platforms as single entities, and doesn't show individual sales by specific console. As such, Minecraft: PlayStation Edition sales have climbed 79 per cent due to the Vita release.
The top ten follows:
- Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
- Assassin's Creed: Unity
- Halo: The Master Chief Collection
- FIFA 15
- Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham
- Assassin's Creed Rogue
- Minecraft: PlayStation Edition
- Pro Evolution Soccer 2015
- World of Warcraft; Warlords of Draenor
- Destiny
