Activision to Publish Judge Dredd in US

It's not what you think - the title is based on a popular British comic book.

Activision informed GameSpot News Thursday that it will be publishing the PlayStation gun game, Judge Dredd, in the US. The title is slated for a March release.

Developed by Gremlin Interactive, the title is based on the popular British comic book, instead of the Sylvester Stallone film of a few years back.

The four-stage, 15-level blaster features some incredible rendered graphics and plenty of civilian targets to get in your way as you attempt to track down evil Tech Judge Bean, who's escaped from prison and looking to take you out. All the characters have been motion captured, and the intro features some of the best FMV sequences we've seen on the PlayStation so far.

Although unconfirmed by Gremlin or Activision, we're told that Gremlin may produce its own light gun for the game, even though Judge Dredd should work just fine with Namco's Guncon and other light gun peripherals.
