TOKYO--Way of the Samurai developer Acquire and publisher Spike are teaming up on a new game project. The title will again focus on the intriguing warriors of ancient Japan, but this time the player won't be a samurai parading through city streets. Instead he'll be a ninja in the shadows of the night. Both companies have launched teaser sites to announce the new game, which is code-named "Ninja Project."

"A new shadow moves, breaking five years of silence," reads the text on Acquire's teaser page.

While details on Ninja Project, including the game's release platform and/or genre, have not yet been announced, it is expected to be an action game. The project would seem to be in its early stages, because a link off of Acquire's page leads directly to the company's job recruitment announcements.
