Darkworks Studio is developing a new action-adventure game for the Sony PlayStation 2 and the Microsoft Xbox, titled 1906: An Arctic Odyssey. The game will be loosely based on the fiction of the legendary writer Jules Verne.
While Darkworks isn't looking to fully re-create any of Verne's original works, it hopes to incorporate elements of the author's narratives into the game's original characters and settings. Darkworks is quick to point out, however, that it plans to base portions of this new adventure on some of the best-known passages from Verne's works.
No specific gameplay information is available at this time, aside from the fact that it will be a "survival adventure." The game is currently on schedule for a late 2001 release. We'll keep our eyes on this one, so rest assured that we'll keep you posted.
