One small step for man, one giant leap for huge mechs

User Rating: 6.7 | Armored Core: Nexus PS2
Armoured core has come a long way since it first started out, and having played all of the ps2 titles, i'd say its a great achievment from where this game stands today. Though the earlier instalment of the AC series may have had some rough edges, but eventualy those kinks were worked out, and paved the way for a great game.

In terms of graphics, AC: Nexus pummels all the opposition (other cheap rip-off mech games) the graphics are smoother and have nicer texture than its predecessors by far, the opening cg cut scenes never fails to impress, and even though the game is never like the cg cut scenes, its still a great game, and if you dont like it, then go suck a DS-lite, or DS if your mouth is big enough.

The sound is maybe one of the very few things that wasn't 'hopped up' from previous titles, the techno music still stay consistant through out the series, and also the sound effects sound a bit bland, and hasn't got that 'umph' to it.

Nexus is a must-have for any fan of mech combat sims, it has so much to offer and a huge amount of missions and ultra high levels of customisable parts, and at only £9.99 at my local store, its a steal! but for every one else, theres play.com (chrome hounds is selling for £34.99 OMG R0xorRR!11!!1!!!)
