Apollo Justice and his friends are back again!

User Rating: 9 | Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy NS

The good: All features in all three games are updated and improved, the use of touch screen is helpful, visual improvements is welcoming, all DLCs is included from the two 3DS games.

The bad: Not all features are spread across all three games equally, achievements are a minor nuisance, Pheonix Wright appearances is sort of limited in all three games.

The history of Ace Attorney games can be undeniable. It started off on Game boy Advance in Japan. Then the trilogy has a moderate success on the Nintendo DS as a defining moment. Also, Miles Edgeworth Investigation came out on DS as well then later on appears on mobile phone. Perhaps most prominently, Apollo Justice makes his debut on DS than later on the 3DS. Later on, after Pheonix Wright vs Professor Layton on 3DS, Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice came out with great success on the 3DS. Now after about a decade, all three games are now a part of a multiplatform society.

Compared to the disappointing Pheonix Wright Trilogy that's devoid of today's gameplay features, after The Great Ace Attorney that appeared in Japan on 3DS than spread out to current consoles is now spread out to the Apollo Trilogy. Plus, the gameplay features you remember on each game: Apollo's talent in spotting a hint of movement during cross examination, Athena's face feeling detection, Ema's forensic skills and Rafya's vision seance of the dead is all intact. Well Ema forensics in both first game exclusive on the DS and Apollo Trilogy is perhaps the best in gameplay aspect. The hardest one is Rafya's vision gameplay which involves pointing which part and word is inconsistent with reality. And Athena's gameplay is the second hardest in matching emotions with evidence. Ema's gameplay is fairly easy involving fingerprints and examining objects. Apollo's gameplay is simply the best one when examining witnesses' statement and finding the tiniest flaw to blow the statement wide open.

Not everything is perfect. Pheonix appearance is limited in all three games, you have to figure out the achievements and not all features are spread out equally. However, the visual looks great, being updated from the Nintendo DS and 3DS combined. Plus, they all sound so good. Well, they still use the speech sound effects since the Gameboy Advance and DS era. But the music is still great in its own right. Plus, all DLCs is included from the two 3DS games.

Overall, despite some minor flaws, it has enough replay meat that will keep you from hanging up the game and allow you to keep playing until the next best thing happens. Perhaps in the near future, Ace Attorney might take the international stage with more girls and more exciting gameplay to come. Just hope the Pheonix Wright Trilogy will be updated with these gameplay additions to be more in line with today's standard. Anyway, it's highly recommended for anyone who likes problem solving and being a lawyer in this masterful trilogy.
