Defintely the last game of the franchise.

User Rating: 6.5 | Amped 3 X360
This is the latest game of the "Amped" franchise. As far as I know, they do not plan to release a new Amped game soon. This is one of the first game that was released for the XBOX 360, but it still looks not so bad in 2012.

It's one of the rare snowboard game that we can find these days. It is exclusive to the XBOX 360. The gameplay is the old style gameplay, in which buttons Y, B and A control the grab and button A is also used to jump. You will not use the right thumbstick unless you want to change the view of the camera. If you are used to the "Skate" franchise where the right thumbstick makes you flip your board, expect some rehabilitation. You will move the camera quite often at the beginning. You get used to it after a while and if you have played the older Tony Hawks games, that will all comes back to your memory.

There are plenty of events (over 300) that vary a lot in difficulty. I think that the hardest are the Kitty Cleanup, where you need to catch signs. Other than this, there are also the Magic Circles, where you need to pass through circles and make a certain amount of point. This was in the previous games. Also coming back from the older "Amped", the Pro events where you need to beat a Pro in about 8 different tricks. You can miss up to 3 before failing the event. There is a mode where you need to simply pass though checkpoint using a snowmobile. A similar mode is also existing but you use various objects like bath, tube and several other ones. There is also a mode where you need to get hurt as much as possible.

So in general, the events are diversified and the gameplay is good, however the story is absolutely absurd. I do not know who this game targets, but it surely is not for people over 13 years old. The cinematics look horrible and are cartoonish. The characters talk like 10 years old kids. If you can skip the story cinematics, go ahead.

That took me about 30 hours completing all the events. Some of them are tricky to find since there are many events very close to each one, so pay attention if you do not want to search hours to find some few remaining events that left.

It seems that the producers did not know what to put in this game, so they put a weak story and mixed it up with snowboarding. The previous games were without any doubt much better.

Finally, Amped 3 can worth a try if you are a winter sports fan, but try to skip the story because that will tempt you to give it up even before starting to play.
