Perfect Horror (While it lasts)

User Rating: 9 | Amnesia: The Dark Descent PC
Good:
- Truly terrifying
- Great art style
- Intriguing story
- fun physics based puzzles

Bad:
- Visuals a little dated but not too shabby
- Short

Amnesia is a game about immersion and atmosphere. People may complain about the bad graphics, but it isn't a major problem, as the atmosphere more than makes up for it. While it may be a puzzle game at heart, Amnesia is not like other puzzle games. Most of the game will not be spent solving puzzles but rather exploring the castle and avoiding enemies. It is this last part where the horror aspect emerges. The main protagonist does not have any weapons to fight the enemies and must hide from them instead. While this may not be revolutionary, Amnesia creates such a high level of dread and tension that it is nigh impossible to ignore. This game is truly survival horror, with a large emphasis on the survival part. The only problem I have with this game is that it is relatively short with a completion time of around six to eight hours, with little replay value.
