Simulation of Survival Horror.

User Rating: 10 | Amnesia: The Dark Descent PC
If this game had another genre in which it should be described, I'd definitely go for "Horror Simulation" -- The same goes for the predecessor titles Penumbra: Overture & Penumbra: The black plague

____

Amnesia: The Dark Descent will instantly suck players & drown them in it's world of nightmares from the very beginning. Every texture, every sound, echo & every corner of the very-darkly disturbing rooms is filled with mystery which will send shivers down your spines.

It won't take long till your own hand controlling the character starts to shiver as soon as you decide to take the game seriously. Personally, I haven't finished the game but I'm nearing the end, however, I couldn't not leave a review for this title. From what I've seen, felt, & experienced so far the quality of this game speaks on it's own.

The puzzles are common sense & pretty damn realistic since the game uses the same gaming engine of Penumbra (Which is obviously more advanced this time around) so you should definitely expect the unexpected if you get confused on what should happen next.

Considering this game was developed by a very small team of people I must say this is an absolute masterpiece, seriously, if any gaming company out there deserved feedback for their quality & originality I definitely choose Frictional Games.
