A shock! I can't believe they dared to release such a game.

User Rating: 2 | Alone in the Dark PS2
Without the slightest exaggeration, this is the worst PS2 game I have ever played. And to be precise, this game is unplayable, because of its controls, its camera motion, and its glitches. Not to mention poor graphics quality, unhandy inventory system and illogical AI of the enemies. You must see it, to believe it!

I gave it up after 3-4 hours of play. Why bother to play and beat such a game, at the expense of my nerves being shattered? There were so many glitches that it seemed ridiculous. Everything in this game was wrong. It's ironical that the game's music is one of the best scores I have heard lately in a PS2 title. That's the only reason I gave this game a mark as high as a full 2, and not 0. The sad thing is that the previous title of the series had created many expectations. Thousands of gamers bought it, feeling certain that it would be another great Alone in the Dark title. And most of them, like me, were totally shocked.

I could easily keep playing, out of scientific curiosity, or just for the laughter, but having in mind that I actually paid 40 Euros for this garbage, made the smile freeze in my lips.

I must admit that at first, after had gone through this gaming ordeal, I had some thoughts, throwing the game to the trashcan, but after some serious thinking, I decided not to. The reason? This game is a true collector's item. In the years to follow, Alone in the Dark for PS2 will be a rare monument of bad programming.
