A game of potential mired by absurd pay to win cash shop.

User Rating: 1 | Allods Online PC
Paying for things is nothing new. The "free to play" genre of mmos are numerous. A number of people say it is the future of the mmo.

I certainly hope the "future" doesn't follow the cash shop model of games like Allods.

The classes are interesting and fun. There are a good number of quests that take you through the levels. You can respec your character for free until after level 15.

This is where I find fault with the game. To do so after level 15 you have to spend real world money(10usd). To travel on a mount is 13usd and that's not it. If you want your mount to travel at any decent pace you have to spend even more money.

I don't have a problem spending money. However I do when it comes to simple things like mounts and character respecs.

Also I have a huge problem paying for said services on servers that are laggy (spikes and often pauses ranging from 1-20 seconds and disconnects).

Final Verdict:

A promising game brought down by a bad pay structure and latency.

Note: After much reading on various search results Allods is a Pay-to-win game in both pvp and pve. Players are allowed to exchange in game currency for cash shop currency to purchase cash shop item. This is somewhat impractical, often requiring large amounts of time invested.
The amount of money expected for a person to spend to be competitive in pvp and pve can exceed hundreds of dollars and even into the thousands. Thats not a typo. $15 a month doesn't sound too bad now eh?
