Fun, but rent, don't buy

This game holds true to the original story line well. It has large world maps to explore, and a bunch of one way doors and such to make the game more challenging. We played on multi-player the whole game, and both players are equally as important, making it fun to play with a friend. I would recommend renting this game instead of buying it though. It took maybe 12 hours to beat, making the $40 price tag a little steep. Yes, you do fight the same red knights over and over again, but they evolve to become harder and multiply in number as the game continues.
One thing that makes this game maybe a little too easy is that you can never die. Your character my run out of life, but it regenerates in the exact same spot it was killed.
The one thing I hated about the game is that you never play as Alice. You can only play as her accomplices, The Mad Hatter, The March Hare, McTwisp, Mallymkun, and Chessur Cat. Each has their own unique abilities that can be upgraded through the use of chess pieces found throughout the levels. Each task is built around the specific abilities of each character, which can be really cool, or really frustrating.
The boss battle was extremely disappointing. The whole game is summed up by throwing some rocks. Even in the final battle of the game you still play as Alice's accomplices, aside from a couple of button pushes as Alice's sword.
