Set the standard.

User Rating: 8 | Aggressive Inline PS2
For me Aggressive Inline set the standard for the extreme sport genre in 2002 , getting rid of the 2 to 5 minute runs in games such as Tony hawk 1-3 and Acklaims own Dave Mirra 2 and bringing us Player Interaction .

First off back 2002 Aggressive inline was A great looking game , almost Ahead of its time , as its standards in my opinion havent been met in the extreme game series , (well maybe in the only Inline game since then "rolling)".
player models were superb with fluid animation and generally nice looking levels.Agressive inline was also one of the first games to give us Breast-Jiggling in the form of Inliner Chrissie and belive it or not back in 2002 this was a big deal among the Community online and in magazines.
oh yeh.........and the other groundbreaker was the cloth movement for the Inliners baggy shirts , as the would fold and flap in the wind , witch at the time was superb.

The gameplay was smooth and responsive , with easy to get use to controls , for grabs grinds and spins. Inlining lever looked or felt so good.
The ability to swing around polls and sketching behind cars just added to the level of excellence this game was.
Average modes for a Extreme sports game were there such as free mode , High score time attack , and 2-player mode.
But the Main Career mode added somthing new that we would see later in the year with Tony Hawk pro skater 4, and then see in AKA's next game BMX XXX , as you didnt have to complete as many challenges as you could in 2 minutes, but ride around freely and interact with certain pedestrians , Guards and locals , and start a new challenge. Completing A set number of these would of course give you a new level.
But what wasnt put into later Tony hawk games , was the Health meter witch ment if you kept falling over or getting hit by traffic you would loose health until you had to start over , luckily there were Icons called Juice that would fill the meter postioned around the levels. this juice would also help aid you in special moves and abilitys.
Humour was another thing Implemented into this game with missions that gave you a laugh with clever/crude dialogue o Funny animations after succesful tasks, but luckily it was nothing like the humour For AKA's next game BMX XXX.
Challenges ranged from easy to hard to sometimes down right impossible , but plenty of fun was to be had atleast trying as the gameplay of inline skating was fun , new and easy to pull off.
A training mode at the start of your "career" would teach you everything you would need to know , teaching interaction with locals , jumps ,exits from pools , spinning off poles and general movement.

The sound was as you would expect with a Extreme sports tile , with grunts , skids , traffic and general noises all well done. The Voice work was well done as you interact with Drunks, Guards ,Clowns ,Ghosts and anyone who you needed info from.
The Music selection was quite good with well known songs like Reel Big Fish's "sell out" to Acklaims Favourite band Sublime.

Presentation was well done in the menus , with Videos playing in the background as you make your selection. A nice list of 9 Pros were included ...including Taig Khris and Sam fogerty. Throw in a Level editor and you game an Overall excellent Extreme sports tile with i thought set the standards for the last couple of years.

If you havent picked this one up and your into the Extreme Sports Genre , then this is the title for you .
