Despite the excellent nature of the game and the epic history of the series, this game has been little more than glossed over. While it does do much better with a full resolution engine, this is more of an update than anything else. Endless opportunities to improve upon the small annoyances of the original lie completely bypassed for the sake of the desperately nostalgic, or perhaps the overly hopeful. I fall into the latter category, having purchased the game for the chance to take on a classic campaign as I remember it. However, I was soon re-discovering the reasons why RTS games of that era were so heavily cheat-encoded. Watching the army I had worked an hour to create crumble in less than 5 minutes due to the insane micromanagement presented by the AI, I have no desire to play this game any longer. My recommendation to any curious about this title would be to save your money and look elsewhere.
