Namco has released its fourth installment of the Ace Combat series, the latest and first for the PS2 in their line of jet fighter combat action titles. The Gameplay of the game is great with 18 playable missions on different terrain. The story is very well executed, and they always remain interesting from level to level. Ace Combat 04's graphics engine is an impressive one that can render beautiful environments, realistic weather effects, and numerous detailed airborne and ground-based objects while maintaining a steady 60fps. With varied terrain types such as canyon environments, beachheads, glaciers, and archipelagoes, none of the game's 18 levels look alike. There are approximately twenty one playable fighters (such as F-15 Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon, F-18 Hornet, F-22 Raptor, Su-27, Su-37 and many more) and all of them sport a very high poly count and texture mapping so as to appear like real aircraft. Sound is another part of the game's amazing sense of scale. From music to voice acting, everything is completely awesome. Ace Combat 04 will let you play any of its missions once you finish the single-player campaign and the game does have some replay value. There are five multiplayer levels that will let you and your friend go head-to-head in planes of your choice. Ace Combat 4 is a flight simulation game with everything that makes a videogame great. There is exceptionally thrilling gameplay, eye-popping graphics, a solid and plausible storyline, and an overall fun factor that will keep you coming back for more even after you’ve beaten it several times and there is no fault in this game so every flight simulation video game fan must own Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies.
