A Short Hike is an easy, fun little game you can play in just a couple of hours. You play as a bird who wants to hike a mountain and is having anxiety. You go out into the world to climb the mountain, and you meet friends along the way that help you by selling you items, exchanging items, racing you around, etc. The mini-games are really fun, like playing volleyball with a stick on a beach. You can also rent a boat and just ride all around the island, which is really entertaining. While you are traversing and meeting people, you can help them out and in return they sometimes reward you with feathers, which you use to jump higher and higher. Reaching the higher parts of the mountain requires more and more feathers, so these are required to beat the game. There isn't much to do other than the few sidequests in the game. You can fly around and find secrets and other feathers, you can fish if you want, you can climb up buildings and race one girl all over the place, but other than that, there isn't much going on. And, for the love of God, only play this in handheld mode. The graphics are so insanely bad on an actual TV it will give you a headache. But I like that this game knows what it is. A short indie game to play on a rainy afternoon that is low stress and absolutely adorable. Definitely worth picking up.
