Xbox 360 owners looking to take the new MotoGP out for a spin around the track are going to have to wait a while longer. The publisher today announced that Moto GP '06, previously scheduled for release by the end of March, now won't ship until May.

After touting the game's new ship date, THQ promised that it will have up-to-date information for the 2006 race season, and it will wind up being an "intensely realistic" racing game thanks to the developers at Climax.

"The latest addition to our MotoGP franchise has seen a unique implementation of depth of field within the graphics engine that allows us to simulate different focal lengths," said Climax designer Jason Avent. "We're extremely proud of the fact that ultimately, the screenshots will speak for themselves!"

The MotoGP license is going to go a few extra laps this year, as THQ Wireless is working on a series of MotoGP-branded products for release in 2006. A variety of games and customized content using the license will be made available through a number of providers.
