Great story. Good gameplay. Terrible controls.

User Rating: 7.6 | 24: The Game PS2
I recently got into the TV show 24, and started playing this right after the second season. I thought that this game was good, but not as good as it could have been.

Story- A-

I can't really give a lot of details about the story without giving away too many spoilers, so I won't say that much about it. The game does have a strong story. It is almost as good as the TV show's stories, but not quite that good. One of the things that I like about the TV show is that it has several stories going on at once. The same is true about the game. However, some of the stories which are shown only last a couple minutes total, including a story revolving around President Palmer. While the stories which don't last that long aren't really that important to the whole game, it still would have been nice to see more of them.

However, that doesn't hurt the game that much. The stories that they do have are great. And it serves to bridge some of the gaps between season 2 and 3 of the show. It takes place about 6 months after season 2, and introduces some characters which play a big role in season 3.

Graphics- B+

The graphics in the game are good. The best graphics in the game are during the cut scenes. These graphics are very good. However, the graphics of the rest of the game, when you are actually controlling the characters, are not the best in this genre. The graphics in the Grand Theft Auto games are better. But they are not that bad either. They are a little above average.

Controls- D

The controls in the game are pretty bad. It's hard to move the gun's aim from one bad guy to another. You have to tap the joy stick in the direction that the other bad guy is, but you have to time the tap of the joy stick perfectly, or else it won't be aimed at anybody. After a while, I got sick of doing this, so I just let go of the aim button, and then pressed it again, hoping that it will aim at the person I wanted to shoot.

The most annoying part of the controls is when there is somebody shooting at you, who is right next to you. You can't aim the gun at him. But he keeps shooting you, and eventually you die. The best thing you could do is to knock him down, and then kick him to death. But if you do that, it takes a while. And by the time he's dead, other bad guys have taken away half of your life, if they haven't actually killed you.

Almost as bad is when you are driving a car. The steering is just terrible. And it's even more frustrating when you have cars trying to hit you from the sides.

Gameplay- B-

The game is very frustrating, but you can beat it within a week. The controls make the gameplay harder than it would normally be. Some of the missions are repeat missions, with the difficulty level raised. With a lot of missions, I was stuck, and turned the game off. But then, the next day I play the mission and beat it after a couple tries.

One of the most interesting part of the gameplay is that the game lets you be different people at different parts of the game. This includes Jack, Chase, Tony, and a few others who I won't name because it would spoil some of the story.

Replay value- B+

The game does have a good replay value. With each mission, you get a percentage which tells you how well you did in the mission. If you complete the mission, but don't do it in the fastest time, or you are almost dead when the mission ends, or you haven't killed a lot of the bad guys, then you get a low percent. If you do it quickly, have a lot of life at the end of the mission, and killed most of the bad guys, then you get a high percent. If you get a high percent (I think it's 90% and higher), then you unlock a bonus feature, which you can access through the game's main menu. For me, a lot of the bonus features don't seem like they are worth going back to get. But to some, they will find them interesting and will be interested in getting all of them.
