Hellblade 2 reviews drop same day. Is it concerning? Nope! Whether the game sucks or not the risk to players are the same because of GamePass. The only ones who are the studio and Microsoft/Xbox. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Damn, not a lot of hype for this game, and it’s supposed to be short. Why did they bother making a sequel? I’m hoping it’s good.

I love the marketing for the game. Think i saw the Blockbuster being mentioned in 2024 more times than Hellblade 2.

ill say a 7. review embargo that lifts on launch day never a good sign. short, narrative driven (usually a synonym for gameplay-lite) but likely high production vales. gs were quite favourable to the first. 7 feels a safe-ish bet.

The original in VR is one of my greatest gaming experiences so I'm hoping it's at least a 9 with a VR update to come.

If it was a PS game, it'd score easily 9/10. But because it's an Xbox game, they'll probably give it an 8 at best.

@kathaariancode: I couldn't stomach last game with it's push forward to progress mechanics. So if this is as awful as the first and they want me to complete it, the shit better be short or have actual gameplay.

4 hours was the same for Order: 1886, so it's fine for Hellblade 2 since it is a walking simulator game after all and anything higher than 4 hours is too much walking & combat fighting so...

Hellbade was an interesting idea artistically, but It just didn't make for engaging game. I had to force myself to finish it because the storytelling was so nonsensical and the puzzles/combat weren't that interesting or deep.

I'm sure HB2 will be a great technical achievement at least.

I care more about the actual game experience then the length of time it takes for the initial playthrough of the game. Also I find that I usually spend a fair amount of more time in a game then what these typical “time to complete” tend to suggest.

Right on... Game length is only an issue when the game isn't fun. Otherwise my hope for every game is a well crafted experience that doesn't overstay it's welcome. Perhaps 30 hours for a game like this would feel like a massive chore... As long as the Devs are intentional I'm good.

It got 6/10 on GS. I was never excited for this game and I felt the first game was overrated. No wonder MS didn't bother marketing it much.

Where's the lems? Gamepass is such a great value that they have to make them games as cheap as possible to make a profit. That's why you better hope and pray Fallout 5 and the next Elder Scrolls better be multiplat. Lol a freaking 6.

GS an outlier in the scores and mid 80s avg is very good. I'll definitely pick it up.

i couldn't get passed the first two sentences of the gs review.

When Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice was released in 2017 it quickly became one of my favorite games of all time. I beat it in one sitting and remember feeling thankful that I had played it in a room dark enough to conceal how much I wept as the credits rolled.

still not bad reviews from other sites, i'll give it a go on gamepass. be rude not to.
