BREAKING: Trump announces his campaign raised $400 MILLION post-conviction

"Right after the announcement of this, more campaign funds were given to this campaign than any campaign they think in history, almost $400 million."

https://thepostmillennial.com/breaking-trump-announces-his-campaign-received-400-million-post-conviction#google_vignette

You'd think with the war they're fighting the Russians wouldn't be able to afford $400 million. Wow.

Two things:

Trump announces…..”

Trump is a proven pathological liar, and anyone who takes him at his word is nothing but a gullible fool. I don’t believe this for a second. It’s BS, or at best, an extreme exaggeration, per typical with the felon conman.

Secondly, the amount, if accurate, also doesn’t necessarily reflect a large number of people donating, which is the implication. It could, but there could also be very wealthy individuals donating very large sums who would love to see Trump back in office to reap the benefits of his policies.

….but yeah, given his track record, anything that exits Trump’s mouth I automatically take as a lie by default. It’s the only intelligent position to take.

I'm quite sure just a few rich donors have given him 50 million or more... Still a long way to 400 though

315 is pretty good. Better than about 99% of people I think. Maybe even 99,5% or higher. Hitting 405lbs for reps... Well it is doable for a few people. Though unless you're competing, you're most likely never going to bench that much.

I work out in a commercial gym, among people here, even the bigger ones. Most aren't benching 2 plates for reps. Hell few will squat with anything more than 2 plates. Deadlift is only for those interested in it.

315 was my goal last year and I hit it pretty quickly. I feel like I could go a little higher, but I lift in my garage without a spotter. And I've pinned myself once or twice before. It's not fun lol.

The last time I went to a public gym was a few months ago when I was in North Carolina for work. I went to a Planet Fitness thinking it was gonna mostly be soccer moms and senior citizens. There were some big ass dudes in there! Which surprised me because there are only smith machines for barbell work. I wasn't really paying attention to what everyone was lifting, but I would guess there were a dozen+ that could rep 225 on the bench. I agree that *most* aren't hitting 225, but it may be more common than you think these days. Fitness and lifting is more popular than ever.

Dozen + of the maybe 500 or more people that go there?

I mean coming in to the gym at the right and does feel like a large number do bench press a lot, then at other times most people struggle with more than 135lbs.

And damn, PF must be worse than I thought.

@strategyfn: I’m kind of the opposite. I lifted in my late 20’s and early 30’s but didn’t really get serious until 37. I’m 40 now and still getting stronger. The only thing on a noticeable decline are my run times. But when I was running my fasted 5Ks I was 168-175lbs. I weighed in this morning at 203. That‘s most likely what’s slowing me down. But there’s guys my age and size, who are pretty lean who can rep 405lbs on the bench press. My max is 315lbs for 3 reps. So I still have a long way I can go.

And holy cow you can do some serious pushups. It takes me 3 sets to hit 100. And I thought that was something lol. Nice work!

The important thing is that the MAGA cult keeps giving him money.

Now more than ever. Didn't someone recently donate $ 100 million to him?

It is just me or is the effect of the brain drain and the cost of this war affecting Russia less than what was portrayed in media?

I find this super hard to judge. One thing that is tricky is short term vs long term. Short term if you spend a ton of money on the military industry productivity should go up and unemployment down. But long term it must be bad as they are not really producing anything of value for the population. But I dont really know what long term is in this context...

Brain drain seems like an even slower process though.

BTW I just tried the new AI feature in Edge (mark the text press alt+I to make AI rewrite your text):

Assessing the impact of military spending on an economy is indeed challenging, especially when considering short-term versus long-term effects. In the short term, significant investment in the military industry can boost productivity and reduce unemployment. However, in the long term, such spending may not yield tangible benefits for the population, as the industry does not produce consumer goods. Defining 'long term' in this context can be ambiguous.

Similarly, brain drain is a gradual process with its own set of complexities. It involves the emigration of skilled individuals from one country to another, which can have profound implications over time.

Damn that makes me sound way smarter 😂😅

Like I was hoping we could soon see the negative effect of it and it start affecting the war.
