Have you been fighting Cactuars and Gigatrices for the past few hours? Well, why not relax a bit in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. In the beautiful beach of Costa del Sol, you'll be able to unlock some cool stuff for your party members. Here's our guide on all the alternate outfits and swimsuits in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
How to get all alternate outfits and swimsuits in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Our Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth swimsuits and alternate outfits guide is organized based on certain categories. We start of by explaining what exactly this feature entails, followed by the attires that we unlocked for each character. We also include tips on how to obtain these new threads. In any case, here are the available options:
- Cloud: Ex-Soldier First Class (default), Ocean Chocobo, Wild Surf, and Midgar Infantry
- Tifa: Pride of Seventh Heaven (default), Majestic Glamour, Shining Spirit, and Midgar Infantry
- Barret: Avalanche Cell Leader (default) and Junon Naval Crew.
- Yuffie: World's Greatest Materia Hunter (default), Summer Orange, Moogle Hat & Cape, and Wutai Pop Star.
- Aerith: Independent Florist (default), Floral Delight, Pink Mermaid, and Midgar Infantry.
- Red XIII: N/A
How to change outfits
You can change outfits by interacting with Changing Stations in Costa del Sol, which you get to visit during Chapter 6: Fool's Paradise. Note that wearing these attires is only possible while you're at the beach resort. The moment you head to other locations, your party members will switch back to their default clothing.
Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith alternate outfits - Midgar Infantry
These uniforms worn by the Midgar 7th Infantry are obtained by default once you complete Chapter 4: Dawn of a New Era, which takes place in the Junon region. However, you won't be able to select these until later in the campaign once the group arrives at Costa del Sol.
Barret alternate outfit - Junon Naval Crew
Similar to the Midgar Infantry uniforms worn by Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith, Barret also dons this attire during Chapter 4. It can be selected later in Costa del Sol, too.
Cloud beachwear - Ocean Chocobo and Wild Surf
Cloud gains access to the Ocean Chocobo (conservative look) and Wild Surf (revealing look) beachwear. This is done as part of a main objective where he has to collect a couple of Companion Cards by winning Costa del Sol's minigames. The cards are then exchanged with a beachwear vendor. We detail what you can expect from these tasks in the next sections.
Note: If you're pursuing a romance with certain characters, make sure that their swimsuits match Cloud's taste--i.e. Cloud picking Wild Surf means that Tifa and/or Aerith should choose a matching option. You can learn more in our romance options and relationships guide.
Cloud Companion Card minigame: Pirate's Rampage
Pirate's Rampage is pretty much a shooting range. Simply move the cursor to target the moving objects and shoot them with the R2 button to gain points. To receive a Companion Card, you just need to reach a minimum of 10,000 points.
Cloud Companion Card minigame: Card Carnival
Costa del Sol also has its own twist on the Queen's Blood card game. This time, there are certain rules in effect, almost "puzzle-like" in nature. For instance, one challenge has you starting from the right-hand side of the board, which means the cards that you need to use must add positions for tiles on the left-hand side. The goal if you want a reward is to win three challenges. You can refer to our best Queen's Blood cards guide if you're still building your deck.
Aerith swimsuits - Floral Delight and Pink Mermaid
Aerith can get a couple of Companion Cards while she and Tifa are playing different kinds of minigames in Costa del Sol. In turn, you can purchase two of her Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth swimsuits: Floral Delight (conservative look) and Pink Mermaid (revealing look).
Note: If you want Cloud to gain a relationship boost with Aerith, then the two need to have the same taste in swimwear. For example, if Cloud picked Wild Surf, then Aerith has to choose Pink Mermaid. This has to be done prior to Aerith and Tifa heading to the beach area. You can learn more about other boosts in our Aerith romance guide.
Aerith Companion Card minigame: Run Wild
Run Wild is basically akin to Rocket League, except you're controlling Red XIII and he has to fight other dogs, as well as a Chocobo. You can lob or kick the football into the net to lower the scores of the blue, black, and yellow teams. You also need to protect your own red team goal.
Aerith Companion Card minigame: Cactuar Caper
Another minigame you can complete if you want more swimsuits in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is Cactuar Caper. The objective here is to find four Cactuar graffiti scattered all over Costa del Sol. Then, you have to activate Photo Mode and match the zoom level before taking a picture.
Here are the locations of the Cactuar drawings:
- On a rock formation by the pier that's near the Queen's Blood stall. This requires 70% zoom level.
- Scrawled on the "Surf & Suntan" sign. This requires 40% zoom level.
- On a rock formation to the left of the Run Wild stall. This requires 10% zoom level.
- Drawn on the fire hydrant that's closest to the entrance lane that leads to the ship harbor. This requires 30% zoom level.
Tifa swimsuits - Majestic Glamour and Shining Spirit
You can get Tifa's swimsuits in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth by completing her own minigames while she and Aerith are exploring Costa del Sol.
Note: Those planning on dating Tifa eventually in the Gold Saucer need to make sure that she and Cloud have similar tastes in beachwear. For instance, Cloud choosing Wild Surf (revealing look) means that Tifa has to wear the Shining Spirit (revealing look) when she heads to the beachfront. You can learn about these boosts in our Tifa romance guide.
Tifa Companion Card minigame: Returning Wheelies
This requires you to bring Wheelies (i.e. scooter bikes) to their proper stations based on a color-coded scheme:
- Red color:
- Station - Where you initially meet Jenny; close to the Costa del Sol exit.
- Wheelie #1 - At the entrance of the Royal Coast hotel in the center of the resort.
- Wheelie #2 - In front of the other hotel near Surf & Suntan.
- Blue color:
- Station - Next to the Surf & Suntan building.
- Wheelie #1 - In front of the Royal Coast hotel.
- Wheelie #2 - In front of the other hotel.
- Yellow color:
- Station - At the shops area in front of the entrance that leads to Johnny's Seaside Inn.
- Wheelie #1 - Next to a ledge just to the left of the Yellow Wheelie Station.
- Wheelie #2 - In front of the Run Wild stall.
Tifa Companion Card minigame: Playing the Piano
You'll find a piano in the Royal Coast hotel, where you'll be able to play "Tifa's Theme." The mechanics involve pushing the left and right thumbsticks toward the direction where you see the moving waves (i.e. notes). We're not that good when it comes to rhythm games, but getting a C-rank allowed us to obtain a Companion Card in any case.
Yuffie alternate outfit - Moogle Hat & Cape
Yuffie dons her wackier attire during Chapter 4 once Cloud and co. are finished with the parade. It's also worth noting that Yuffie joins you after you're done with the main story objectives in Costa del Sol, though this outfit can be selected later.
Yuffie swimsuit - Summer Orange
Yuffie wears this during the main story arc in Costa del Sol, even though she's not an official party member yet. This does become selectable via the changing room once she joins the squad.
Yuffie alternate outfit - Wutai Pop Star
Yuffie automatically changes to this attire during Chapter 8: All That Glitters, which is when the group arrives at the Gold Saucer theme park. It will also be available for selection whenever you visit Costa del Sol.
In any case, these are the alternate outfits and swimsuits in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. If you're already done with the sun and sand in Costa del Sol, then you might want to learn about the minigames that await you in the Gold Saucer.
