Fortnite Elements Event Adds Avatar Powers, Aang Skin, And More

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 introduced Korra via the battle pass, and since then three more characters from the Last Airbender universe--Toph, Zuko, and Katara--were added to the in-game shop. Now, with the new Elements limited-time event, not only can you wield the power of the four elements in each match, but the accompanying Elements Pass adds Aang to the game for the first time.

The Fortnite Elements event begins with the v29.20 hotfix on April 12, and it will run until May 2 at 11 PM PT / May 3 at 2 AM ET. The event has two main features: The Elements Pass which adds new reward tracks for players to earn, and the addition of new elemental weapons to the Battle Royale mode.

The new in-game elemental weapons introduce one new item for each of the four elements in The Last Airbender--water, fire, earth, and air--which can be found in designated Shrines, in chests, and as ground loot. Each weapon's abilities are as follows:

• Waterbending: Throws ice projectiles at opponents, and increases Health while in water
• Earthbending: Creates large chunks of earth that can be thrown at foes or used as a barrier against enemy attacks
• Firebending: Shoots arcing flames from a distance, or launches the user into the air and slams down for an explosive attack
• Airbending: Creates quick bursts of air which causes the user to dash a large distance, or use air to launch the user and nearby players upward.

The Elements Pass will include a free and a premium reward track, with the Aang skin available to all who purchase the premium track as soon as the sale is made. The free track features rewards like Sokka’s Space Sword pickaxe for Battle Royale and Dramyin guitar item for Fortnite Festival, while the premium track includes the Air Nomad Staff pickaxe, Momo Messenger back bling, and ends with the Avatar Aang skin.

Rewards for the Elements Pass can be earned by completing Chakra quests, with each reward unlocking at a certain Chakra level. Quests themed around a certain element will unlock once a week, and the schedule looks like this:

• Water Chakra Quests: Available now
• Earth Chakra Quests: April 15 at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET
• Fire Chakra Quests: April 18 at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET
• Air Chakra Quests: April 22 at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET
• Light Chakra and Sound Chakra Quests: 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET
