An extremely interesting game, but it can get a bit boring after a while, and is extremely difficult.

User Rating: 6.8 | Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters GX: Mezase Duel King! GBA
As soon as I bought this, I was impressed by it. The game is definately one of the best additions to the video game series yet, however this review shows how good it really is.

Gameplay: Like Sacred Cards, this game's strongest area is it's gameplay. In this game, you are a new student at Duel Academy, and you get selected to be in Slifer Red. There are tests at the end of each month where you can increase your dueling rank, and possibly have the option to move up to a higher (Or move to a lower) dorm. In my opinion, I actually like this better than the plot of Sacred Cards and the card-playing is easier without having to consider the "Attribute rules". It is also extremely easy to get around, considering that you just have to press the control pad. I really enjoy the plot considering that we needed a Yu-gi-oh GX game and you don't just become a friend of a main character that just magically appears out of nowhere. I feel that the controls are very nice, though perhaps enable a running function. 8/10

Graphics: The characters are animated quite well, though the monsters look like they did before Nightmare Troubadour, unimpressive. You can really tell what the seperate areas are and such. Though the cards are unimpressive, the pictures outside of the duel are quite nice. 7/10

Sound: The music gets rather annoying even after only a couple hours of playing, though for the first hour the music is rather nice. I can't give any credit at all to voice actors, considering that there were none. Though the sound effects are rather interesting to say the least. 5/10

Value: The game at first is quite fun, being able to play against people with different deck themes, however eventually it just becomes "When does the next duelist reveal themself?" It quickly becomes tenacious and boring. There is pretty much no replay value either considering that there are very few changes in the game if you play it again. 5/10

Reviewer's Tilt: In my opinion, they included most of the cards that I would want them to include however I feel that Alexis got the short end of the stick in this game. There was practically no cards that Alexis actually played in the game. The different strategy of the duelists creates a lot of variety in the game and makes things rather entertaining. It is also great that there are no "Attribute rules." 7/10.

The total equals 32/50, or 6.8.

Hope that you enjoyed this review!
