To start the dish early on, Yu Gi Oh Forbidden Memories for the PS 1 looked quite glamorous and cool. You start off meeting a few characters from the game with some retro- Egyptian style bg music too add to the hype.

Now to the heart of the gameplay: The card dueling. This is the main thing that would either attach you to the game or make you walk out of the room. Sadly, it's the latter option you would pick if you aren't that yu gi oh fanboy kind of person.

The game mechanics stink. Instead of strategy, the game is more likely of a power showoff parade. What I mean is, you have to attack attack and attack to win!! Then, your cards is just a washoff at the start and you need to unlock cards which costs a lot. This is probably one of the reasons why I sticked with the game for a little longer.

There's also one feature of the game outside the real rules of duel monsters: you can combine you cards to make a stronger one. You risk your turn and see if you could successfully create a stronger card. Because of this, you tend to memorize or jot down the combinations you luckily got which carries you off the main thing of the game. Lack of features is another turn down of the game. You'll be just dueling the same characters again and again just to earn some points for you to unlock a card till you get bored. That's it. Period.
