I remember playing Yoshi's Story with my friends back in the day with my childhood friends. Now that I look back on Yoshi's Story, I realize that this game is too short, the graphics are way too cutesy, and that it's extremely easy. While this game is good for little kids, adults might not be interested in Yoshi's Story that much.

The presentation is where different colored Yoshi's save the day. Baby Bowser traps up their island in a story book form. The biggest problem with Yoshi's Story is that there are only 24 levels in the game. Compared to Yoshi's Island which has over 50 levels, this game feels stripped down that way. It's true that you select any stage within a certain level. For example, on level one, you can either to the first, second, or third stage etc. The difficulty levels of this game are mostly extremely easy because it doesn't require much skill to figure out how to pass a level. Plus, the fruits are practically everywhere to collect. This makes this game even easier to pass through levels. Once you collect all the fruit, you then advance to the next level.

The graphics might appeal to younger audiences which this game is geared for. Older hardcore gamers will be disappointed with the extremely colorful and cutesy graphics. There are no problems with glitches or frame rate issues. There are some books that pop out in three dimensions while this game is mostly a side scrolling two dimensional.

The music still sounds kiddish, and older gamers will mostly be displeased with the music as well. There is an occasional hip- hop music that raps about Yoshi. On the final level, the music sounds very classical, but very kiddish at the same time.

The controls, on the other hand, are accurate and responsive. You basically press a button to have Yoshi aim eggs at his enemies. There's a block where you can have him carry more eggs on the back of him. The overall game play is still extremely simple, and revolves around mostly on collecting fruit.

The lasting approval is a short, but entertaining game for the younger gamers out there. Too bad there are no multiplayer modes either. Older gamers may find some nostalgia relief, but they might not be entertained for very long. You can still replay the levels and try to earn a high score.
