Not much of a challenge but might be worth a play for some.

I've always been a huge fan of the original Yoshi's Island it's probably one of the best games on the Snes, so since this is kind of a counter part in fact this game is supposed to be its sequel and to be honest that make me quite angry since this game was very lazily done. Don't get me wrong this is not a complete bad game, but to stand up and say that this is the sequel of a fan favorite Yoshi's Island and make a game as easy as this and make it nearly identical to it just doesn't feel right for me, Shall I explain?

Story: I know, I know, the story in Mario shouldn't matter because that's not what Mario is about but come on this is definitely not doing the Mario story any favors. So basically after the end of Yoshi's story the stork is taking the Mario brothers to their proper parents, however the stork messes up and goes to the wrong family(why am I paying this stork my tax dollars he should be doing a better job lol) the stork reclaims the baby's and goes to find their true parents but is again ambushed by Kamek, Luigi is taken and Mario and Yoshi must get him back, This is literally the same d@#n story, look I get its Mario but seriously why go through all the trouble of even trying to change the story a little bit, whatever this isn't too bad for me but come on guys next time try a little harder please.

Presentation: Another lazy attempt at this game, First off the art style in this game isn't bad but it just feels so copy and paste from the original, don't get me wrong this game does look really good but I wish they would of done what they seemed to have claimed in the title with it. The soundtrack.... Oh man.... come on guys seriously... The soundtrack is as disappointing as it can get, don't get me wrong their our some good songs too it, you know all the three that they put into it, literally that's all their is three songs played over and over again they do kind of remix them in different areas to go to the theme of the area you are in, but after hearing it so many times throughout the whole game it doesn't matter it's already gotten old. The presentation isn't the worst I've ever seen but it definitely needs a lot of work.

Gameplay: It's your usual platformer, and not a very challenging one, I literally almost had one hundred lives near the end of the game, that's how easy the game was, In fact if you think most bosses in the Mario universe our easy to begin with wait till you play this game every single one in this game is an utter joke and way too easy, including the final boss. Just because this game is easy thought doesn't mean it's completely bad, in fact I had quite a bit of fun with the stages, but this is definitely not one of those games you want to pick up if you are looking for a challenge. Just like in that fantastic commercial everyone saw on the TV only Yoshi can turn into a helicopter or a ski machine, Good way to market your product huh, but anyways you got the same power ups you got from Yoshi's island and the new ones the original ones our all right in this game, they don't have much of a purpose while the new one are not bad but nothing groundbreaking. I think the main problem with this game is just the lack of challenge, and that a lot of these levels just feel a little too similar to the original, the gameplay isn't bad its just not very fresh.

(Spoiler Alert) The final boss is Baby Bowser and guess what he is literally the same boss as the original nothing new a complete copy and paste, in fact he is even easier then the original boss what a let down. As you can guess the ending is the Stork taking baby Mario and Luigi to their proper parents,(I sure hope so it seems like he's always drunk when he's doing his job).

Overall Yoshi's New Island isn't the worst game I've played but this was literally made for someone very young, they even added a invincibility item for people who are having too much trouble with the game, I can't believe this like come on even kid's nowadays aren't that bad, anyways, this is a game worth getting if you just want it for the novelty.
