Could this game be the first game to deserve the title of "sequel to Yoshi's Island?"

User Rating: 10 | Yoshi's Island DS DS
The only way to properly review this game is to compare it to it's predecessor, Yoshi's Island: a hands-down 10/10 game that every Mario fan must play.
******
***Plot:
*1st game: The first Yoshi's Island had minimal plot, but just enough to maintain a storyline.
*2nd game: While this game doesn't have much of a plot to it either, and what there is is a bit cheesy, there's been a large improvement in the plot from the last game.
***Graphics/art:
*1st game: Just about everything in this game looks pastel-colored, making an interesting twist on the game's appearance.
*2nd game: not surprisingly, the sprites are more realistic looking, however everything else is the same
***Music:
*1st: I love the music in this game. Best out of any Mario game
*2nd: Sadly, they didn't do as good of a job with the music in this game. Most of the tunes are just variations of a single melody, which obviously disappointed me.
***Sound effects:
*1st: Great sound effects in this game! (I've only played the GBA one, and I know the sounds are different in the SNES game, but I don't know exactly what's different)
*2nd: The sound effects are okay, however a few of the old sound effects were replaced with more obnoxious effects, namely the de-morphing sound effect, which I HATE!!!
*****GAMEPLAY*****
***Controls:
They're the same. Simple as that. Very easy controls, too.
**Levels:
1st: Great and challenging adventure, with each level containing it's own new twist, resulting in a very non repetitive game.
2nd: sadly, this game only has five worlds, wheres the first one had six. However, I will say that the levels are much more difficult, what with the swapping of babies.
***Length:
both are perfect length
***Moves:
The moves are pretty much the same, except slight changes between different babies. my one complaint is that in the first game, any egg could bounce of walls three times, but in the newer game, green eggs can only bounce twice, yellow once, and red none at all.
***Other changes:
The new game has fewer morphing items than the old one, and the new game doesn't use items anymore, making it harder to get 100 points on a level. Plus, in the new game, when you drop your baby, if you're fast enough, you can retrieve your baby without losing any stars, but in the old game you automatically lose one star the moment you drop the baby.

All in all:
This is a suitable sequel, and deserves a 10/10
